lack of sleep and too much coffee and cramps produce a lot of random thoughts... and listening to two songs on jing's laptop that i like, kaci brown's unbelievable; and natalie's going' crazy. smooth songs for a sunny packing day...

·         Did you know that to mail a postcard overseas is now the same price as sending a nice card/letter? 98 cents, I know, because I spent a lot of money on stamps today

·         The Avis guy tried hitting on me this morning, what normally would’ve taken 1 minute to do took him 10 minutes because he carried the conversation on with questions like, “so are you Chinese?” “Oh I’d love to go there, tell me about what’s exciting in China?” “How long is the flight?”… it’s early in the morning, just give me my car so I can get out of here…

·         I learned a new term, frumpy, it’s funny how Britney shows up when I Google imaged it

·         Just when I thought my super insecure client didn’t need babysitting today, my phone alerted me that I have one voicemail…

·         I saw a Lexus SUV on the highway, it was decorated w/ two reindeer horns, uber cute

we all know our little boy ksun never worries. however, today, i discovered his "worry":

now that mom's in China, i've been tasked to take care of jing - even though she did turn 18 on friday, so i don't legally need to be here! yay. but it's nice, spending time, just the two of us, pigging out on wendy's, mcdonald's, popeye's fried chicken & mashed potatoes, b&n cafe's mediterranean chicken flatbread (jing's not supposed to eat dairy, shh)... in addition to eating out, we've also been, well, she has been, creating some dishes... i had a very funny incident with the defrosting situation today, once again, very incompetent in the kitchen. anyways, the one thing i am competent in, is making the coffee in the morning - and i find using the french press an absolutely joyous routine. the most annoying part of the french press is that the instrument is hard to clean. not only do you have to wash the glass container, you also have to figure out a way to get rid of every bit of grinded coffee bean from the stainless steel filter. and i also have a hard time disposing the coffee bits... but today, i realized that - hey, these finely grinded coffee beans are perfect HAND SCRUBS! yes! Scrubbing the beans all over your hands and arms felt so good! i especially liked the moisturizing effect of the coffee bean oils :)
